One day about four years ago I noticed what looked like an insect bite on the instep of my foot. A few days later the spot was inflamed. After washing the foot thoroughly, I applied a small bandage to keep it clean. It never occurred to me then that even a little error is just as great a denial of God's all-good universe as a more impressive evil—and just as important to refute. This fact was soon evident when the sore did not heal.
By this time I knew I'd better identify myself with Spirit—that is, acknowledge my innate spirituality as God's child. I affirmed that I was subject only to God's goodness, and that poison has no place or power in Love's creation. I concluded by rejoicing that man's purity and innocence are intact and cannot be invaded. I kept my thought on these scientifically spiritual truths of God and man, but all the while caring for the wound.
