I owe so much to God for Christian Science—it has comforted me from the time I was growing up to the present day. Participation in branch church activities and Christian Science class instruction have helped me keep "on the beam"—in line with God's truth. Through the years there have been many permanent healings; a few of them I want to share.

After marrying, we moved to southern California. It was such a happy time. But after several years our dream of having children still had not come true. So I asked for prayerful help from a Christian Science practitioner.

Even though I studied many references from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I can remember working with just this statement about Mary, the mother of Jesus, from the textbook (Science and Health, p.29): "The illumination of Mary's spiritual sense put to silence material law and its order of generation, and brought forth her child by the revelation of Truth, demonstrating God as the Father of men." It came to me that I must spiritualize my thinking. I knew I must not be willful or humanly demanding. Finally I realized (ibid., p.505): "The divine Mind, not matter, creates all identities, and they are forms of Mind, the ideas of Spirit apparent only as Mind, never as mindless matter nor the so-called material senses."
