DeWITT JOHN

Tiny bird

With total trust
Nesting safe—
Eyes tight-closed,
Mouth open wide
To longed-for meal.
No doubt assails
As parents range
Their promise to fulfill.

Symbol of

Profoundest truth:
Man held in Mind—
Consciousness in Him.
From Love's resources:
Nourishment complete.
No doubts assail
For God redeems
The promise of His Word:

"Open thy mouth wide,
And I will fill it." Ps. 81:10.
