A MAN TOOK UP HIS BED
Whoever lies at Bethesda
(the hours drifting away)
looking for visions and miracles
can begin to arise this day.
Though the waters may seem to be troubled
by an angel out of the sky
the crowds cannot hold you back at all
from your healing, as they surge by.
There is nothing to keep you from the Christ
as you search your heart anew.
Your prayer and longing will bring you
to a knowledge of what is true:
You are the flawless child of God,
who loves you and keeps you sound;
you have always walked in Love and Life
and on holy ground.
So lift up your thought to this healing truth
as a man once took up his bed.
Will you lie at the pool of Bethesda
or rise up and walk instead?
