APOSTLES

Phyllis Stoddard

Do I love enough to withhold
the silver and the gold?
Am I satisfied to know
the truth and go
my way? Or
do I listen, heed
the voiceless deeper need?
Am I sure I'm not
"lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot"
and that, having done all, I stand?
