Christian Science has for many years been a "lamp unto my feet...
Christian Science has for many years been a "lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Ps. 119:105). In childhood I was healed of Saint Vitus's dance. My grandmother took me to see a Christian Science practitioner, and when we left his office one hour later, I was healed. At another time years later I was healed of a very stiff neck that for months prevented my turning my head to the left side. I was not getting results by my own efforts in applying Christian Science, so I asked a practitioner for treatment through prayer, and in a few days I was completely free.
Once when I was working in a large government office, I lost an important legal document. It had come into my hands, and I had dealt with it in the usual way, but instead of giving it to my superior, as I thought I had done, I mislaid it. Two weeks later when the legal department asked for it in order to start proceedings, it was nowhere to be found. At first, panic overtook me, but I stopped and declared that Mind knew where it was, that man reflects divine Mind, intelligence, and is not therefore a careless or overworked mortal who makes mistakes. I seemed to rise right above any suggestions of carelessness on my part, simply would not accept the thought in incompetence, and left the whole thing to God and went on with my work.
It was close to lunchtime when this happened, so instead of staying in and starting a frantic search, I went out to lunch. As I walked along the street, I stopped every few minutes and was tempted to go back, but each time I would think, "Stop. The all-knowing Mind controls in the human realm and even now is supplying to all concerned the necessary intelligence and guidance."
