When I was quite young in the study of Christian Science, I learned a valuable lesson in obedience. Our branch church was giving a Christian Science lecture, and I had been taught that one must support the lecture given by one's own church. One must go to give, not just to receive.
At that time I was going through a serious business problem, and all I could think of was, "Where will I hear the word of help?" I had just gone into a new business, manufacturing millinery. I had made the mistake of underpricing our labor costs. Although many human suggestions came to me from important businessmen, these did not seem to offer the proper solution. I needed enlightenment through Christian Science.
