Christian Science is a religion of truth and love, a practical Science applicable to all the conditions of life.

Of man it is stated in the Bible (Prov. 23:7), "As he thinketh in his heart, so is he." And we have the encouraging and confidence-giving words from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 396), "It breaks the dream of disease to understand that sickness is formed by the human mind, not by matter nor by the divine Mind." Imparting to the human mind the truth that man is the likeness of God, the compound idea of infinite Spirit, breaks the dream of disease.

This was clearly proved for me when a sudden illness was immediately overcome with the help of a Christian Science practitioner. Late in the evening I was preparing to go to bed, when weakness almost overwhelmed me. I was rather new in Science, and as the weakness spread, fear began to manifest itself. I used all my energy to dress in order to reach a telephone to ask a practitioner for help. Shivering and stammering, I conveyed my need to the practitioner, who lovingly promised to support me. The practitioner, evidently discerning my thought, suggested that I go for a little walk before going to bed and told me to ponder the truth of man in the likeness of God, Spirit, as I went. While I was walking, improvement took place, and a short while after I had been home, I ceased to feel any discomfort. The next morning I was completely well.
