For many years I attended a Christian Science Sunday School and later became a member of The Mother Church and of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Class instruction followed. Finally through God's guidance the time came when I was gently lifted out of the arms of a loving family relationship and directed to go into another part of the country where I had never been before.

It was necessary for me to find gainful employment in that new location. My funds were low, but I knew that my first step was to seek divine guidance about where and how I could best serve. Many hours were spent in a Christian Science Reading Room over a period of months. It was an inspiring experience. One day an office position was offered to me, and I joyfully accepted it; I remained in it until I was given the opportunity to be active in branch church work.

Confusion, fear, and doubt tried many times to shake my confidence in good, in God; and I had to know positively that the divine Mind alone governs man. I constantly held uppermost in thought the desire to serve God and to help my fellow men. During the years it was necessary many times for me to move from one place to another, even during the winter season when it was considered difficult to find available rooms. But I never doubted that my needs would be met, and each time they were.
