I feel it my duty to give a testimony of...
I feel it my duty to give a testimony of the healing of our little son. On Sunday, May 5, 1901, he was taken sick with acute pneumonia. He was attended by two of our prominent physicians. On Monday evening, he was given up as past human aid; they told us he could not live until morning, and that it would not be necessary to call again. He was unconscious from Sunday until Wednesday morning; his body was cold, his lips and fingers had turned black, his tongue was swollen until his mouth and throat were filled. A Scientist whom we had met on several occasions was called after the physicians had gone, and when she arrived she found her patient raving in delirium and being held by great force on the bed.
Soon after treatment was commenced he quieted down and gradually became easier. In a few hours he recognized his family and continued to gain. On Friday he was able to be dressed, and on the following day was out in the yard with the other children, perfectly well, without a trace of the dread disease. Everything had been overcome and he has been in perfect health ever since.
Words alone cannot express the gratitude we owe to Christian Science for what it has brought to our home.
