How a Trained Nurse came into Christian Science
It was through the healing of a medical patient that I first heard of Christian Science. Though it was a most beautiful demonstration of instantaneous healing, the thought confronted me all the time, "Don't investigate this new method of healing, it will interfere with your nursing." But the harder I tried to forget it, the stronger was the desire to know something about it. That I did obey the still, small voice of Truth, and bought "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I am most thankful to God.
What a revelation it was, as I read and began to learn that there is a true Science which rests on the basis of a fixed Principle, and to know that God is the divine Principle who heals all our disease! I had seen the nothingness of medicine. How often have I been asked by the doctor to give a hypodermic injection of water instead of morphine, where the patient would be groaning in pain; and the sufferer would sleep quietly, believing it was morphine that had given him relief.
