CHRISTLY LOVE

Some there were who loved him, hearing what he said, willing to be ledto the quiet placeswhere his spirit rested.

WELCOME AT BETHLEHEM

The Wisemen came from far to welcome Jesus; The gifts they brought were rare.

THE STARS WERE BRIGHT

The stars were bright above Judean hillsIn that hushed hour before the dark gave way;And one moved low across the vales and rillsTo mark the place where little Jesus lay.

SECURITY

Wait patiently and learn the pathThat all must take; Then silently, with footsteps swift,Old ways forsakeAnd see unfoldment clear and pure,The Father's plan complete, secure.

IN MY HOUSE

Oh, may my words, like gentle rainThat lifts the drooping flower again,Arouse the fainting heart to learnIn confidence to God to turn,Knowing His bounty ever fallsOn him who asks or knocks or calls,And to a hungry wanderer's cryWill never bread of Truth deny.

AS UNDERSTANDING DAWNS

And they were healed.

MY BLESSINGS

I thought I couldn't count thembecause I hadn't any.

THE DAWNING

The child is sleeping now,Safe in God's care,For Mind has shown me howTo keep him there.

THE SNARE IS BROKEN

Swift-flying bird winging your way aloft,What drew you down to dark entanglement?

THANKSGIVING

I shall no moregather the harvest grainof sin and sorrow, want and bitter pain.

CHRIST CAME

He came to the Magdalen close to the tomb,Comforting grief; He came to the eleven in the locked room,Quickening faith; He came to sweet Galilee in the bright morn,Pledging his love;He stood by the seaside, among the newbornFishers of men;He gave them commission that they should go forth,Preaching the Word,On seas of the nations and lands of the earth,Christ to be near.
