When Christian Science was first introduced into our home, I was a very sick, weak child, depending entirely on materia medica for my aid. I was never allowed to be away any distance from mother, as they said I was too nervous. I was suffering from blood-poisoning in my foot when given the scientific statement of being (Science and Health, p. 468) to understand, and in three days was able to get around, to put my shoe on, and walk comfortably.

This healing raised new hope in me, I wanted what other Scientists had, but was told I must be studious to gain this. I started to Sunday school and before long my eyes, that had been crossed since I was two years old, so badly that it was impossible to see the eyeball of my left eye at all at times, were healed. This healing of my eyes was accomplished over four years ago, and I have had absolutely no trouble with them since.

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for revealing to us this new-old, practical religion of love. "The vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love" (Science and Health, p. 113). It has met every need for the last five years. I have been healed of mumps, hemorrhages, sunstroke, fainting spells, misplaced hip, broken fingers, and Spanish influenza, and all this is indeed proof of the statement: "Truth, Life, and Love are a law of annihilation to everything unlike themselves, because they declare nothing except God" (Science and Health, p. 43). I am thankful for all these blessings, also for the practitioner who was the channel for my healings; but most of all I am grateful for the spiritual regeneration, which our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, made possible for us by her life of devotion to God.
