to shine

dear God—

whatever it takes

whatever . . .

hitch my wagon
to Your star

anchor my heart
in Your hands

take my wings
position them
on air
show me how

to flex these hopes
to pulse the sky
to read the waters
to hide in plain sight
not fear the light

and mostly,

to shine
