Self-control and grace

Few would deny the importance of self-control. Not all, however, link this quality with grace. But self-control reveals grace in a meekness and wisdom unknown to the garrulous talker, unexpressed by the self-willed worker. In the perceptive words of the poet Emily Dickinson,
