On a biking trip: ageless joy

As we get older, it might be tempting to judge our physical or mental capabilities against what we did in years past. And if we seem to come up short, we may feel that by growing older we have “lost” something. But have we really?

The fear of growing old can be addressed in prayer – and healed – when we understand that we are sustained as children of a loving Father-Mother God, the one infinite divine Mind.

Decades ago I loved to ride my touring bike in the hills of Los Altos, California. Later when I moved south to Los Angeles, I’d occasionally commute to work on my bicycle along Sunset Boulevard. Then as I began raising a young family, other activities replaced my riding. My road bike was left to gather dust in the garage and was finally sold.
