An 18-wheeler "miracle"

Though with varying degrees of success, I have tried to conscientiously study and practice Christian Science for several decades. And I’ve found that knowing the constancy of God’s loving care can become as natural as breathing. The Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings have been constant companions throughout my life’s adventures, including competitive athletics, military fighter flying, and long-haul trucking, as well as marriage, kids, and jobs. Along the way, I have striven to understand the truths that reality is spiritual; that my identity is a reflection of Spirit, God, good; and that fundamentally, everything is mental.

As children of God, each of us has the ability right now to be receptive to the presence and supremacy of divine good. The challenge is to understand and apply that knowledge again and again, so that we build a foundation of Christian thinking that is part and parcel of who we are.

The process of study, learning, and practice allows us to stretch and clarify our thinking to more readily know the presence and supremacy of good—and to know it even instinctively. I consider that the master Christian, Christ Jesus, studied (his knowledge of the Scriptures was incomparable), learned (he communed regularly with God including spending “all night in prayer to God”), and practiced (his life was practical proof of God’s allness).
