Turn your Face to the Light

Truth brings only joy, turn your face to the Light,O sister, O brother; You work for yourselves when you work for the right,And work for each other.

There is no joy too great for theeWhen Love is on the throne,For God would have to cease to beTo leave thee all alone.

The Word

Voice of the Holy Spirit, making knownMan to himself, a witness swift and sure,Warning, approving, true, and wise, and pure,Counsel and guidance that misleadeth none!By Thee the mystery of life is read; The picture-writing of the world's gray seers,The myths and parables of the primal years,Whose letter kills, by Thee interpreted,Take healthful meanings fitten to our needs,And in the soul's vernacular expressThe common law of simple righteousness.

The Unfailing One

He who hath led, will leadAll through the wilderness; He who hath fed, will feed;He who hath blessed, will bless; He who hath heard thy cry,Will never close His ear;He who hath marked thy faintest sighWill not forget thy tear.

April

A little crocus bud lifted its headUp from a bed of brown,And the sun smiled through from a bit of blueAnd shone on its yellow gown.

A Flower Legend

When he whose sinless spirit hasFor centuries been our guide and way,Compassed by stern and cruel foes,Was being forced up the dread hillOf suffering and shameful death,Weary and fainting 'neath the burdenOf the heavy cross on which he was to yieldIn agony, his stainless life,—'Tis said, that in his stepsThere bloomed a sudden wonder:—A snowy flower, that mortal eyeTill then, had never seen.
