In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

In a recent issue a critic is reported as again making the statement that the healing by Christian Science is accomplished through "string and continued suggestion," a statement that is wholly wrong, and one which has been corrected repeatedly.
That other churches, owing to the success of Christian Science, should sometime take up the ministry of healing, was an inevitable consequence foreseen by Mrs.
As reported in the News, a clergyman, in a sermon at Brighton, classed Christian Science as a "false religion.
The advice of a well-known writer, quoted in the Empire to regard death as a friend, not as a foe, is so diametrically opposite to the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy, who is mentioned therein, that a word of explanation seems desirable for the benefit of those of your readers who might otherwise be misled.
Christian Science is not a cult, but, as its name implies, it is the scientific or exact knowledge of the Christ, Truth, which may be demonstrated or proved by anyone who is willing to put its teachings into practice.

Demonstration

When one is first reaching out for an understanding of Christian Science with which to overcome disease or some other discordant condition, his thought is held, from the opening line of the Preface of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, by the possibility of immediately putting into practice the rules of divine healing and thereby gaining without delay the good promised as a result of this practice.
