The speaker is quoted as referring to Christian Science as a "self-centered system," which "teaches how to help one's self, how to get away from one's own troubles; but duty, responsibility, and the helping of others are minor considerations.
In Christian Science, the reverend critic averred, the health of the body was made the chief feature, whereas in the New Testament it was the salvation of the soul that was emphasized.
First, our critic says there is no place in Christian Science for the atonement.
There has been much disposition shown of late by our fun-makers and their imitators to make Christian Science the butt of their humor.
