Healing of underarm growth
Originally published in Spanish
One day I noticed a growth under my arm. As the days went by, I prayed about my health as usual, without thinking too much about it. I was knowing that God has all power in my life. I felt at peace. During these two weeks I would experience pain and discomfort under my arm, and then it would go away.
Shortly after this, I went to take a shower and noticed that the area under the arm looked worse. I decided to ask a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer. I realized that I was feeling hypnotized by the symptoms and was giving the condition reality. I had learned that, when praying about an issue in Christian Science, it is important to affirm one’s spiritual nature, which includes harmony and perfection. It isn’t helpful to keep looking at the material condition, touching it, or worrying about it.
I also prayed with “the scientific statement of being” found in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual” (p. 468).
