In search of joy
I learned to accept joy before I could feel it and before I felt the fear dissolve.
I’ve been thinking a lot about joy lately. I’ve been wanting to feel more genuine joy in my life, and wanting others to feel it, too.
I used to think joy was just a human emotion, but I’m learning that joy comes from God. So if joy doesn’t depend on our circumstances, how can we feel it, especially if it seems as though we can’t?
We can turn to God, good, and humbly listen and obey. It’s hard to stay sad or fearful or angry when we are looking to God instead of being preoccupied with a human situation. Turning to God lifts our view and lifts us in the process.
