University student’s needs met
“Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). How many times must I have repeated this line from the Lord’s Prayer throughout the many decades since I was a student in Christian Science Sunday School! Yet the significance and healing power of those words were unfolded to me in very powerful ways over just the last five years.
My daughter was about to leave home for the first time and travel to another continent for her undergraduate degree. When we were looking for student accommodation, her first choice of a privately run student facility was all booked up, so she went with the college dormitory instead, and I made the payment to secure the accommodation for the year. I traveled with my daughter to settle her in, and the dorm room, which was a studio, seemed to be suitable. Within a couple of days of moving in, however, my daughter told me that she was not comfortable with this studio because of its secluded location.
We began to look at alternatives, but every place seemed to be full. Her school term was due to start in a few days, and I was scheduled to return home. I was concerned that it would be impossible to find a suitable option in the time available or to get a refund for the dorm room.
