Turning to God brings quick healing
In gratitude to God I am sharing this healing. I first heard of Christian Science about ten years ago, and as I learned more about it and grew in my spiritual understanding, I became more committed to studying it. During this time, I joined The Mother Church—The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston—and a branch church.
Last summer I had a healing that meant a lot to me. I was doing laundry when I noticed several spots on a blouse and decided to spray them with a stain remover. Not noticing that the nozzle was turned toward me, I accidentally sprayed the chemicals in my eyes.
I was fearful and called a Christian Science practitioner but didn’t reach her. I didn’t leave a message about the problem, realizing that I had to quickly turn directly to God in prayer. I could not see. I kept my eyes closed and carefully made my way to the bathroom, where I rinsed my eyes with water as I prayed. I reached out to God out loud initially, saying “God, God, oh God.” I could not think of anything other than God. I had learned that God is good, is All, and gives only good, and that I express God as His child—as everyone does.
