Christ light
Cheryl Ranson
To our waiting hearts,
whatever our need
or hope or history,
Christ comes as light—
as glimmer,
gradual dawning,
or sudden shaft—
revealing Immanuel,
God here and now
and always.
With effortless radiance
Christ exposes sin and disease
as substanceless,
nothing at all.
Then our primal purity shines
distinct and bright—
unshadowed by mortality,
limned in divine light.
