Healing of internal pain
One day several years ago I was startled by an intense internal pain. It took my breath away. I realized I needed to start praying immediately and not ignore the discomfort, but I was a busy mom with two children and a husband—all of whom wanted my attention at that moment.
I quickly explained to my husband what was going on and that I needed some time for prayer. He took the kids out for ice cream, giving me the needed quiet to pray about the pain, which had not lessened in intensity.
I called a Christian Science practitioner for prayer, and was comforted when she answered right away and was able to calm my fears. I still remember her loving assurance that I was, and always had been, cared for by God, divine Love. I knew I was not alone in this.
