Urinary problem healed
One Friday, I began experiencing pain and problems while urinating. I returned to my bedroom and began praying. I pondered the Lord’s Prayer, along with its spiritual interpretation found in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy (see pp. 16–17). I also prayed with “the scientific statement of being” (see Science and Health, p. 468).
These passages reminded me of the purity of my true, spiritual identity as a child of God, created in His image and likeness. As spiritual ideas emanating from the divine Mind, “hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3), we are not made of material organs. And we are entirely under the protection of the one Mind, God.
The difficulties continued during the day, and it was tempting to let fear take over and to ruminate on what the cause might be. But I have learned from experience that to choose Christian Science is to choose the side of divine Truth, of Christ. So I called a Christian Science practitioner, who helped me understand that I did not need to be afraid. I pondered “the doctrine of absolute Christian Science,” which says that “evil or matter has neither intelligence nor power” (Science and Health, p. 454). God, good, is supreme, so evil has no legitimacy and could not impose on my health.
