Me—a turtle?
Recently I was listening to a news report on homelessness and reaching out to God for inspiration on this issue. I have found that turning to God brings me peace, as well as spiritual ideas in which I find practical solutions for myself and others.
While I was thinking that it is everyone’s civic and divine right to have a safe place to reside, an image of one of our pond turtles popped into my mind. “How convenient,” I thought. Turtles carry their home—their shelter, their protection—around with them wherever they travel. They have what they need at all times. They can stop where they are, retire inside, and take a siesta.
“Hey, we are all turtles!” I suddenly realized. I laughed at the idea, but from a spiritual standpoint it made so much sense.
