The truth about all of God’s creation
I have spent my whole life working with animals and have particularly appreciated this statement by Mary Baker Eddy: “All of God’s creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 514). Glimpsing the spiritual truth behind those words has brought me inspiration and healing.
The first healing happened when I was a child. On weekends and vacations I worked on a ranch owned by some friends, and in exchange I was able to spend time with their horses. That was a dream come true for me!
As I learned more about horses and how to work with them, I was given a young colt to train. One day the colt bucked me off and then stepped on my leg. This was on a Wednesday evening, so I was not able to get hold of my parents or any other Christian Scientists in the area—they were all at church.
