Our pet’s healing
My mom contacted me one morning when I was at work, rather concerned because she had noticed a swelling on the side of her cat’s face. The cat, Honey, is a tiny little thing and a beautiful pet, and she has brought so much joy and happiness to our family—we all cherish her.
I began to pray deeply to know that not only would Mom be comforted but Honey would be healed. It was Honey’s divine right to be free as God’s perfect, spiritual idea. The thought came to me in prayer that this cat was innately pure and perfect.
These words from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy took hold in my prayers: “Look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality. Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts” (p. 261).
