An inner monologue ...

Tracey Walter on and off the set

Tracey Walter has appeared in over 100 films, including Batman, where he played Jack Nicholson's sidekick, Bob; City Slickers, in which he played Cookie, the authentic western chef; and The Silence of the Lambs, in which he played Lamar, the mortician. Most recently, he was in last year's first $100 million film, Erin Brockovich, playing Charles Embry, one of the heroes.

Every day, I read the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. It includes selections from Science and Health. I also pick the book up from time to time and select even the smallest bit from it, and try to stay with whatever idea I've found throughout the day. Yesterday, for example, I picked it up and read for a little while in the section that answers the question, "What is man?" It begins, "Man is not matter; ..." (p. 475). That alone was enough for the day.

This idea of remembering something about God relates to when I'm preparing for a role. You read the script. You know a little about the character. Then, whether you have a week or a month, you simply walk around and let the different things you do seep in and help you develop your part.
