When I was three my mommy would walk me to the library...
When I was three my mommy would walk me to the library for storytime. One day while we were hurrying to get there, I was skipping and I fell down. When I fell I bit my lip hard, and it started to bleed. I was scared, and I started to cry.
Mommy carried me home and got my lip cleaned up. We called a Christian Science practitioner, and she told my mom to sing hymns to me. We talked about how God is all and everywhere, and so there is no spot where God is not. Then Mommy sang me "O gentle presence ..." (see Christian Science Hymnal, No. 207). I fell asleep while she was singing.
A couple of hours later I woke up. My lip didn't hurt anymore. I looked in the mirror and saw that the cut had closed up. I was very grateful that I had been healed. I learned that God is always there to help when you need Him. Mommy and I always got a doughnut after storytime at the library. So I was sad and cried because I'd missed getting a doughnut. When my mommy asked what was wrong, I said, "Where's my doughnut?" She laughed, and a day later I got my favorite chocolate doughnut and ate it up. It didn't hurt my lip, and I was real happy.
