Dear Sentinel,

From children and young people

Dear Sentinel,

God is Love, Life, and Truth. He made you and me. The Bible says that God is Love. Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy says that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (p. 494).

God is All, which means to me that He made everything. Since He is perfect, everyone and everything He made is perfect. I know this is true because one day at school I had an earache, and when I prayed the thought came to me, "God is All!" and my earache went away. God healed me.

When you pray to God, He helps you realize that you are perfect. When you have a healing, what happens is that you have understood that sickness never was real in the first place. You do this by listening for "God's thoughts passing to man. ..." Mrs. Eddy was talking about angels when she wrote this in Science and Health, on page 581.

What really helps me most is remembering that God is Love, because He is! It is nice to know that God won't stop loving you—ever!

P.S. The New Testament in the Bible talks about Christ Jesus. He told us a lot about God, and he listened to God, so he was able to raise people from the dead. He gave us the Beatitudes (see Matt. 5:3–12). He had a pure heart. He said that if you have a pure heart you will see God. This means to me that you will feel God's allness and have better understanding of Him.

Dear Sentinel,

Here are two healings I had through turning to God. The first healing was when our class had its science test. There was one question that I was stumped on. There in the middle of our test I prayed to God to know the answer, and right then I knew the answer. God is the one Mind, and we reflect Him. Thank you, God.

The second healing was in the car. My family and I were going to the movies. Once we got into the parking lot, I started to take off my seat belt, but then suddenly my hair got wrapped up in the seat belt. A man came over to help. I prayed that God was with me right there. After I prayed, the man got my hair out. I am thankful to know that God will always answer my every need. Thank you again, Lord.

Dear Sentinel,

One time when my family and I were at the state fair, we were looking at horses. Then the rest of my family left. They thought I was with them, but I didn't know they were leaving. I was afraid when they were not there. I looked all over but I could not find them. So I knew that God was all around me, and it was all right. Soon they found me. I was so glad to know that I could count on God. I am glad that everyone can share God's love.
