Name and nature
From Abram to Abraham
and Sarai to Sarah ...
decades of faithfulness.
From Jacob to Israel ...
wrestling with an angel.
From Simon to Peter, "the rock ..."
recognizing Christ.
From Saul to Paul ...
the light of inspiration.
And me, dear Lord,
what will it take
to recognize and express
my true name, my true nature?
Decades of faithfulness;
wrestling with angels;
recognizing Christ;
the light of inspiration!
For soon or slow
we too can grow
through trial or tribulation
when every word and act
is for another's good,
as Jesus would.
Then thought aligns with Christ,
man's true, spiritual nature,
and we are called,
"children of God."
