Christian Science has enabled me to surmount many challenges
Christian Science has enabled me to surmount many challenges. As a college student I found that the acknowledgment of God as the one Mind brought peace to various stressful situations, a sense of unity that counteracted claims of competition, and academic success where human intelligence had proved insufficient.
In my first two years of college I learned to trust God completely as my true source of intelligence. Many times in examination situations I faced problems for which I could not produce solutions. I would turn away from the exam and pray to recognize my true identity as a child of God, reflecting infinite intelligence. In Proverbs we read (2:6), "The Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." I would try to understand that my wisdom does not emanate from a material brain; it comes directly from God, Mind, the ever-present source of intelligence. Each time, this realization opened my thought to divine inspiration and brought the correct answers.
