For over half a century, Christian Science has shown me the one true God, who is indeed the Principle upon which I have been able to rely. Science has been the basis for my having rewarding employment, whether in a chosen profession or at home raising the children and caring for the family; for finding companionship and friendship all along the way; for physical healings, including those of so-called children's diseases, which were quickly met, sometimes within hours; and for adequate supply, even during the period after my husband had passed on when our children were away at college. Both were able to graduate on time with no indebtedness.

At one time facial paralysis turned me to a deeper study of Science. Hymn No. 278 from the Christian Science Hymnal was a help to me, especially this line: "Pilgrim on earth, home and heaven are within thee." Heaven was within me, within each of us, I saw, excluding and precluding as unreal anything ungodlike. In a week my physical appearance was once again normal.

A simple healing of a cold that involved heavy congestion stands out to me because of its clear proof that, as Mrs. Eddy states(Miscellaneous Writings, p. 343), "too soon we cannot turn from disease in the body to find disease in the mortal mind, and its cure, in working for God." My husband and I had planned a trip to a city some distance away at this time, and it felt right to go. As he drove, I pondered the quotation just cited, and within fifteen minutes every cold symptom had vanished. The congestion was not physically eliminated from the body; it simply vanished.
