My introduction to Christian Science came many years ago...
My introduction to Christian Science came many years ago when a neighbor gave me three issues of the Sentinel. At that time the world looked very dark. During the depression years we had put our savings into a business that failed, and we lost everything. My husband had been unable to find work, despite his fine qualifications.
Our prayers to God seemed to be unanswered. I really didn't know how to pray. After reading the Sentinel, for the first time I felt I knew God. That very evening my husband was offered work at a place where he had applied two years earlier. The offer was small; in fact, he was almost starting at the bottom, but it was accepted with gratitude. In no time the job was better than any he'd ever had, and he was never again unemployed. The wonderful part to me was that I had found God and a great desire to know more of Him, and this has never left.
"Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee" (Ps. 40:5). With the help of Christian Science practitioners, I have seen both our daughters delivered from grave illnesses. They are now grown, with families of their own that are applying the truths of this Science.
