Scientific Conviction Brings Healing
A question has long concerned me: How do we know when we are healed in Christian Science? We can't look to matter to see if it is improving or changing, because what is unreal to start with can't testify truthfully to its own unreality. Consequently, examining matter would tend to perpetuate the false belief in material conditions and so delay the healing.
But we can look upon human consciousness as a kind of barometer of our spiritual understanding.
In the Bible the healing of the woman who had an issue of blood provides us with an insight into this question. Mark writes that she "came in the press behind, and touched his [Christ Jesus'] garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague." Mark 5:27-29;
