The Greatest
It is a wonderful feeling to come in first, to be on top of the heap, to be a champion. But the winning isn't all.
To some of the world's top athletes the biggest thrill in the coming Olympics will be the opportunity the games provide to glorify God. In his book The Heart of a Champion Olympic gold medalist Bob Richards writes, "This may shock you, but some of the greatest athletes I have ever known have been athletes who have aimed for what they considered the greatest thing in the universe—namely, God." The Heart of a Champion, p. 99;
Aiming to prove one's unity with God is an ambition to which Christian Scientists fully subscribe. Christian Science teaches that God is always the greatest. It reveals that God is the one omnipresent, omniactive, omniscient, and omnipotent Mind and man is the active expression of that Mind.
