One day in summer we went to the lake

One day in summer we went to the lake. We hung a rope from a tree. We could swing over the water. When it was my turn, I didn't swing far enough and fell on a rock and cut myself. My mom and dad were coming in the boat. I told them about it, and we got a band-aid and covered the cut. I knew that God was with me, and then I went on playing. The cut healed, and it didn't bother me.

My family likes to water-ski. I wouldn't have any part in it. I said I didn't like it. Every time my dad tried to get me on skis I was afraid. I cried. So one Friday night my mom and I read the story of Peter walking on the water to Jesus (see Matt. 14:29-31). Peter sank when he was afraid. Jesus believed in God so clearly that he knew there was no error to cause fear, and he helped Peter. I knew that God was with me. That means that good was with me all the time, everywhere.

Then the next time we went water-skiing I tried to ski. I liked it so much that by the end of the summer I could ski on two skis or one ski. I wanted to ski whenever there was a chance.
