The Gardener

He does not say,
As day by day
Passeth without result,
There is no bud in bush,
There is no rose in bud;
Rather, his faith prevails
And he applies himself
To do his part,
Which, if well done,
He knows will bring
In time, the rose;
Though how it grows,
Or where such beauty
Found repose
Before unfolding unto him,
He cannot say —
Unless he knoweth God.
