"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." These words of the Master are fulfilled as one gains some understanding of Christ, Truth, as revealed by the study of Christian Science. I accepted Christian Science after witnessing the healing of my baby niece from a severe attack of erysipelas on the face and throat. I did not know at the time that I was in need of healing, but I wished to possess the privilege to heal, which Christian Science accords to all who are willing to follow the rules laid down in the Bible and explained by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." My first healings in Christian Science were not of physical ills, but of unkind thoughts and a disagreeable disposition. I had suffered from these more than from any illness. And those who have had healings similar to mine will know the happiness one feels on being relieved of irritability, nagging, faultfinding, harsh judgment, condemnation, and unkind criticism. Oh, the unspeakable joy to find that man is not the sinful creature which mortal mind would paint him, but the image and likeness of God, and that the physical senses cannot give reliable information regarding man and his activities!

The truth regarding man was proved to me five years ago when, the day after the birth of our little daughter, I resumed my normal activity, being absent from home duties only one afternoon. A Christian Science practitioner lovingly gave me absent treatment. This experience contrasted strikingly with the births of the two children before I came into Christian Science, both of which were attended by a medical doctor, hours of suffering, and days of recuperation.

I have seen inflammatory and muscular rheumatism and fever yield instantly to the power of Truth; also, all the diseases of our children overcome in a remarkably short time. I have been able to recover lost articles by the understanding of divine Science which I possess. A little boy in my Sunday school class was healed instantly of a swelling caused by a snake bite; and numerous ills, including tuberculosis, have been overcome among my family and friends by Christian Science alone. For all of these healings I am most grateful.
