In the passing of Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy, Saturday...

Evening Journal

In the passing of Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy, Saturday evening, the Christian world loses on whose life for nearly half a century has been one of the great uplifts to humanity. Her spiritual teachings stimulated the sick and unfortunate, drawing them into the "fold," arousing the latent character in the people of all that was good and had for the making of better men and women. No woman in all history had more influence for good on humanity than the dead Leader. She carried her message to every country and every nation, and the world is better that she has lived. There can be no successor to Mary Baker Eddy. But her teachings and writings will live and go on, and the love and good they brought to the mind and soul of humanity will continue its influence until time is no more. Let the world join with her followers in saying: "Peace to her memory."
