Of old the psalmist sang, "What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me;" and Mary, "highly favored" of God, said, "My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. . . . For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name." Truly I too have great reason to be thankful for this message of divine Love that has been revealed to us in Christian Science. This truth has healed me of heart disease and an affection of the lungs, and for twenty years has been the only medicine for myself and family. We have indeed proved it "a very present help" in every time of need.

I became of member of a church when quite young, and am thankful for the good received in that church, but when sickness came and there was said to be no help for me, I wondered why God did not heal us now as He healed the sick and helpless in Jesus' time. I have since learned that I was then praying to an "unknown God," and Jesus said, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God." I have seen many phases of disease flee before this understanding of God as the only Life, but I think the most beautiful experience I ever has was when I was healed,—when the blind eyes were opened, just a little, and I began as a child to see God's universe,—whereas, before, I was sick and weak, now I am well and strong; whereas all was trouble and sorrow, now all is joy and peace. The half can never be told. About twelve years ago I had all my upper teeth extracted, and last May a friend and I went to a dentist to have some more extracted. The friend had fourteen removed, and I had ten, all with no other help than Christian Science, and in both cases the operation was nearly painless. The dentists were very much surprised.

The Christian Science Sentinel, Journal, and Quarterly have been a great help; I often wonder how we ever got along without them, and as to our dear Leader, how can I express my gratitude to her? I can only do so by striving to follow in the footsteps of the Master, as she has taught us, and my one humble desire is to be a true Christian Scientist.—Mrs. Elizabeth Horn, Ash, Ont., Can.
