A PSALM OF GRATITUDE

All praise to Thee, all glory to Thy name,Our Father, God, O Love divine,For like refreshing summer dew,That lifts the thirsty flowers anew,Thy mercy fills this heart of mine.

GLIMPSE OF PEACE

Awake , sweet lyres of heavenly peace,The morn of Love is breaking clear; The fitful, moaning surges cease,Eternal shores are gleaming near.

A GIFT

A gift is given, more precious farThan gold may purchase; in the heart'Tis softly laid,—the hands depart,Lest one may know whose hands they are.

"Be of good cheer," he said...

"Be of good cheer," he said;Yet well he knewThe way seems hard and weary, too,And still he says this day to you,"Be of good cheer!"

EACH DAY IS SPRING

I looked across the vale to whereThe hills rose gently tier on tierAgainst the blue of heaven:New life hung vibrant in the air,Breathing its promise; spring is here,The whole world feels the leaven.

FAITH

No faith is living faith indeedThat from earth's fetters is not freed;A faith that builds on moving sand,Thereon Truth's temple cannot stand!Faith in the things the senses know,Faith in this world's deceitful show,Such faith no mountains can remove,And never may Truth's power prove.

From Conquering hate, enthroning peace

How can we love when others hate? Prayerful turning to God, divine Love, with the earnest desire to express His qualities under all circumstances will give us strength and ability to do right.

SECURITY

We turn not backWhen paths look dimAnd skies seem gray;No good we lackWhen trusting Him—Love lights the way.

FAITH

O Happy bird that springsOn joyous wingsTo yonder heightAnd doth not fear to fall!

RECEIVING AND GIVING

What shall I render unto GodFor all the wealth that Love bestows?

A THANK-OFFERING

Though power in me may not abide,To praise Thee, Lord, in numbers grand,I thank Thee Thou hast not deniedThe grace to hear and understand.

THE CHOICE

A Path I chose, wherein my feet should tread; It lay before me, lily-lined and fair;Roses and sunshine, summer skies o'erhead,Sweet peace, companionship, and love, were there.
New mercies, new blessings, new light on thy way;New courage, new hope, and new strength for each day;New notes of thanksgiving, new chords of delight,New praise in the morning, new songs in the night;New wine in thy chalice, new altars to raise;New fruits for thy Master, new garments of praise;New gifts from his treasures, new smiles from his face;New streams from the fountain of infinite grace;New stars for thy crown, and new tokens of love;New gleams of the glory that waits thee above;New light of his countenance full and unpriced; All this be the joy of thy new life in Christ.
