Those
Christian Scientists who remember the publication of the first edition of our Church Manual may recall what varied reception it was accorded by the field at large.
Christian Science
as revealed by Mary Baker Eddy provides mankind with full, complete, present-day salvation from all that is unlike God, that is, from all that is unlike good; and it proves its practical utility by its works.
By
the recent decision of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts there is placed before every member of The Mother Church the opportunity to aid in quickly restoring our periodicals to their rightful position as auxiliaries for publicly presenting Christian Science, the essence of which is to be found in its purity and entirety only in the writings of our Leader.
The
study of history is one helpful remedy for mortal conceit, since in all ages mortal belief in its various phases has supposed itself able to annul the unfolding effectiveness of Truth, and yet in all ages Truth manifest has been indefeasible, demonstrating real good to be the accomplished fact in spite of merely mortal endeavors.
Mortal
belief will never be less than it is now, for, as Christian Science shows, it is now and always has been nothing, mere effect of a supposed mind for which there is no room in the allness of the one divine Mind and its idea.
When
a man looks at a flower, a mountain, or at the cattle upon a thousand hills, and sees beauty, he may well think: How much more beautiful is the infinite spiritual idea which all these earthly things but counterfeit.
The
only real will is the will of divine intelligence, and the only real relationship is that of divine intelligence to its idea or expression and of the idea to divine intelligence.
