A recent
public address by a prominent educator in Scotland has aroused much interest because of its reference to Christian Science, and has led a good many to investigate this subject.
We
are sometimes asked whether the Church Manual is to be taken as a guide for the conduct of all Christian Scientists, and no better answer can be given than that in the words of our Leader: "Of this I am sure, that each Rule and By-law in this Manual will increase the spirituality of him who obeys it, invigorate his capacity to heal the sick, to comfort as mourn, and to awaken the sinner".
In
expressing their gratitude for the physical healing which comes through Christian Science, most persons add a deep note of thanks for the Scriptures which also comes with the application of this truth to human need.
We
are pleased to call the attention of our readers to the article by our revered Leader, "Youth and Young Manhood," which appears in the November issue of the Cosmopolitan magazine.
It
would seem that the teaching of Christian Science relative to the unreal nature of evil in all its forms is so clearly explained in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," as to render any mistaken sense of the author's meaning well-nigh impossible, but there are unfortunately those who do not take the trouble to acquaint themselves with this meaning, and who instead offer to the uninformed their personal opinion along with their bitter condemnation of what they suppose Christian Science to teach.
