Who will roll away the stone?

The women followed Jesus
           from Galilee to Golgotha
                          to his garden tomb

Early in the morning
    they carried ointments to
                    ready him for a final
                       grave and say goodbye

The vault’s heavy door
          was a stone rolled
                   across and sealed

“Who will roll it
          away for us?” The women
                            gripped their spices

But the stone was
              already rolled
                                    away . . .

This morning while readying
                      myself for a farewell,
                                       I just might be

surprised to find the
      barriers between God
                        and me already
                                       rolled away

just like they
          were never
                           there
