One day I noticed that my cat, Gerard, was showing signs of a feline malady. I recognized the symptoms, because I had lost other cats to the same malady. I did not want this to happen again, so I turned to Christian Science for help.

I had grown up attending a Christian Science Sunday School but had drifted away from it as a teenager. At this time, several decades later, I didn’t possess a Bible or a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. So I went online and found some articles from the Sentinel and The Christian Science Journal to read. I also listened to the weekly Bible Lesson found in the Christian Science Quarterly.

I continued to study and pray on my own for a couple of months, but the cat was no better. He had no appetite and had lost a great deal of weight, becoming quite weak.
