Divine Truth dissolves growth
Through the years, I have had many healings by applying the teachings of Christian Science. Each one has shown me that we are always in God’s loving presence and care, for which I am profoundly grateful. The healing I am sharing with you here means a lot to me because of the spiritual growth I gained.
One day when I looked in the mirror, I noticed a small pink spot next to my nose. I didn’t give it much thought at the time. But over a period of a few years, the spot enlarged to the point that I had to cover it with a Band-Aid.
During this time I had occasionally received prayerful treatment from a Christian Science practitioner regarding this condition, but I hadn’t prayed consistently about it myself. However, when the condition worsened, and frankly, became ugly, I knew that I needed to get busy. I want to explain here that Christian Science healing is not accomplished through human willpower, but by yielding one’s thought to the divine will, to seeing what God is and how He sees us, His spiritual creation. This is always a right motive for prayer. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, wrote in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony” (p. 390).
